How long have you been in business?
Our doors opened in 1937. Originally named Tom Taylor Insurance Brokers after the late Tom Sr. In 2010, our owners incorporated their names to our new name, Taylor-Thomason Insurance Brokers.
What is your primary product or service?
We are personal and business insurance brokers offering many options including liability, professional, condo and renters, auto, life, health, and supplemental insurance (to name a few).
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Tom Taylor Jr was introduced to insurance as a child. His father, Tom Sr, started the business in his home over 75 years ago. In the 1960s Tom Jr graduated from the University of Washington business school with a focus on insurance and risk management. Steve Thomason graduated from the University of Oregon and has been in the insurance industry for over 25 years.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We have over 50 years combined experience among our staff in both Personal and Business insurance services. We vigilantly educate ourselves in risk management and understand the importance of customer service. What is important to you, is also important to us. We want to "assure your success" by creating an insurance program to protect your family and business, paying special attention to each client and their needs.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Our office is in Tacoma. We have a sister office, A E Long Insurance, in Puyallup. We are a small group with big heart and do not intent to expand so that we remain personal and approachable.

We are located across the street from Allenmore Hospital on the corner of 19th Street S and Union in Tacoma.

Checks, Money Orders, and Credit Cards are gladly accepted

We are open Monday through Friday from 8am - 5pm. Phone calls are answered daily 24/7.
