Pierce County Library System’s libraries and online resources bring people together and enrich lives
Pierce County Library System’s 18 libraries and online resources bring people together, enrich lives and provide children and adults with opportunities to learn. The libraries offer families and children fun, learning and free access to more than a million books, DVDs, downloadable audiobooks and e-books, and numerous events to help kids read and do their homework.
According to state law, a five-member volunteer board of trustees is responsible for policy decisions and budget approval. The county executive appoints trustees, and the county council approves appointments.
Pierce County Library serves 1,773 square miles, which includes all of unincorporated Pierce County and 15 annexed cities and town. The Library’s serves a population of 527,000.
